01 - In a medium saucepan, combine filtered water, dried hibiscus flowers, sliced fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and lightly crushed cardamom pods.
02 - Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to a simmer. Allow to simmer uncovered for 10 to 12 minutes.
03 - Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in granulated sugar or honey until completely dissolved.
04 - Let the infused mixture steep for an additional 5 minutes to deepen the flavors.
05 - Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into a heatproof pitcher, discarding the spent solids. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until thoroughly chilled.
